Hi Peeps Some advise please. My recently acquired 2007 Tricolore doesn't have a rear Hugger? Most of the early Ducati press photo's don't seem to show one being fitted. But other photo's on Internet do. Any ideas if it should have one and could I just buy and fit one without problems? There several on Ebay from £50 to £75. Any advise please.... Many thanks in advance......
The Tricalore parts download does not show a rear hugger as original equipment. There is a forum discount from Conquest Carbon who also stock Fullsix stuff. I am afraid you only get what you pay for so don't expect top qualty at the price point you have mentioned. Andy
The DP ones look good but they maybe a bit too short to be able to offer full protection to the shock. A bit like the babes in micro bikinis I saw at the beach the other day. Half does the job but looks the business!
My 2010 848 never had one either. I bought a great quality €30 one from ebay Germany that came in base so I could paint it my own colour and fitted it.
Yup the hugger conundrum. They were not standard on the 1098. I think I have the Ducati one somewhere, I'd let you have it for a song, BTH its pretty shit and I'd look for a longer one. the problem is the attachment to the swinging arm makes them difficult to provide good cover. I'm running a Powerbronze but it comes with a big steel frame to attach it and still isn't molded properly to protect the shock. I also use the R&G shock tube, for me this works well and keeps the shock clean. Even then its its not perfect as it gets burned and needs replaced from time to time due to radiant exhaust heat.
Let me look it out today and send you picture I need to find out what they were worth, but as its just taking up space how does £20 sound plus packaging. I honestly think you're money would be better spent on a longer though
