I've sent some bits off to be powdercoated & had to drill out the frame inserts/plugs. I don't know the correct terminology but they effectively seal out the weather & water supposedly. Anyone know the name please? Red circle is the items in the close up image. The lower circle shows the silver frame dual version, whilst the topcase has a single hole. Close up Finally the frame ready to go awaiting center-stand to join the fun.. Glad when these are sorted as they've looked horrible for far too long
It's difficult to see what you means gunz? Do you mean on the two upper rails, there were two frame inserts into the end of the rail to keep water and debris out? and the lower part of the frame, a strip of rubber where the two allen bolts go through?
In my first image there is two circled areas, these are where the inserts shown lower down exist in symmetry. They did mostly keep crap out of the tubes, the aluminium silver tubes are fine. The black steel ones are rusted inside & out & there other ends never were sealed. You can zoom in on the images by clicking on them'
I looked at most top box luggage racks for yours and it doesn't seem to be aftermarket???? If not and it is a ducati one, perhaps a call to the dealer to see if they carry spares, not all duc parts are silly expensive
It's Touratech and anything that is both Touratech and Ducati means trouble; Touratech really could not care less for Ducati owners. Just look at their YouTube videos and Company website. They did a "closed" deal with Ducati for the panniers, top box, frames and engine bars making it very difficult to get parts and accessory instruction manuals.
Very kindly a member had a gander at some diagrams, this turns out to be called a.. 87241141A End part The one above is the silver ones that is not broken but this will lead me to the actual topbox ones. Big thanks to @nelly for information!
O ye of little faith' Jan Hagedorn (Head of After Sales and Technical Support - Touratech) is sending me the items soon! -------------- Also kindly bike-parts-ducati kindly located the items also but didn't have a listed part number for them. So a shout out to Sav & Theo for taking time to help out'
They should be sending you new bracket parts too. There's no way they should be looking like that in just 5 years
2016 Enduro 1st generation, topbox fitted as soon as it arrived. Never been off & bike used all year round during winters. Not washed every week & closing in on 40,000miles (39 but lets not fall out). I'm not concerned, it'll happen again if the paint-job isn't good quality.
I believe they are coming as a goodwill jesture @noobie. The diagram wasn't even on the bike-parts-ducati site for topbox schematics, nor the actual listed part numbers for the diagram. However you could buy the frame in sections (9 & 10) including the fasteners for £100 odd quid. My long convoluted message to both ducati OYB (not got back to me) & Touratech uk...reached the german side of things & they just kindly requested my address & would post them to me.
There is the possibility I am the worst owner of a ducati-enduro in the entire UK. And that frankly when invisible head bows down into cupped hands across the web due to my emails & photos. They just lift & sway their heads & give in too good nature momentarily for an eejit. Hoping never to hear from me again'
LOLZ to be fair mate, if you think of the enduro as a tool for a means to an end, I completely understand, I had a few years ago, a K4 Gixer thou to love and a RR-1 Blackbird as my means to an end!
