Well, ever since having my audi s4 stolen couple months back, i knew it would probably potentially create some issues - but i'm running out of time. I have always insured multibike with 10yrs experience in a nice neighbourhood within m25 - have a desmo, 1098r, mv agusta f4 and a honda cbr1000rr sp2 but ever since the theft claim, i'm simply not getting quotes - i think bewiser quoted 11k and ducati insurance said they will call me back a week ago - ive chased them 2-3 times but not heard anything still. Current insurer MCE simply saying they don't insure bikes over 20k which i said was BS but not much point arguing with them. I can get a single bike for the 1098r around 500gbp but the moment the desmo goes on either single bike or not - not many are interested. The funny thing is since my no claims were protected, it will cost less than 1k to insure a mercedes e63s amg but i can't get a quote on a desmo? And to think that it isn't even a bike related claim. Sorry for the rant - but finding this ridiculous and running out of patience. I'm going to try DMCinsurance and Bemoto from the other threads tmr and if still nothing, i'm going to sorn the desmo until i can think of something else. Or unless anyone has any suggestions? What do people do to insure the superleggeras, or H2rs etc?
not got a SL or other exotica, but did find Bemoto very helpful with my M900 and 998s. they only do bikes, so won't be able to help with your car(s).
i found BikeSure helpful when I had issues - with exotica you just have to put leg work in and make loads of calls I found https://www.bikesure.co.uk/
I'm with Motorcycle Direct. Do you use the Desmo? Could you take her off road and just insure separately as a stored bike, so just fire, theft and Act of God? @Exige does that on some of his exotic material.
As Exige says, I've got laid up Insurance with Footman James. £79:00 for a guaranteed £8k valuation on a couple of mine..
Principle helped me. No one would honour Australian no claims for bikes so I had to start over Bemoto were very helpful but were unable to provide a competitive quote until I reach 2 years NCB, will def contact them when/if I reach that milestone
Yup, try Principle, they're in Manchester if I remember correctly. I had multibike with them for a while but now with MCE. Only other thing I can think of is to unsure separately, which could be expensive.
