My 999S trackbike rear Showa is toast - the adjusting screw is all in and there is still too little damping. I'm losing my rear tire out of curves. Now what to get - where to get - what to pay? Is there only Øhlins? I need something that can be taken apart and serviced and with a 85 kg spring. br Jim
Thanks all - I found another original (but working) Showa that I will get mounted and setup tomorrow for my upcoming 2 trackdays on Anderstorp, which is a really fast track. The Showa was what I could find right now and that gives me the time to find something better. If it feels right and works as it should I will probably delay the upgrade to a winter project for both rear and front suspension. br Jim
A fellow trackdriver returned from Anderstorp raceway yesterday and dumped a top-notch MUPO racing rear shock into my lap. It always pays off to spread the word but I didn't expect to finde something great this fast. I dumped the Showa in a second and today I'm getting the MUPO put on and setup and now I am really looking forward to go racing wednesday with a 'new', stiffer and safer bike setup. Edit: That's more like it, the bike feels a lot more 'solid' now and it looks pretty good too! Jim
