  1. Hey guys I need a bit if help to value my bike as to be honest haven't got a clue
    It's a custom 916 with
    996 engine
    Power commander
    Power commander multi box
    Power commander LCD unit
    Power commander quick shifter
    Custom rear sets
Ohlins front forks from 1098 (I think)
    Ohlins rear suspension adjustable
    Polished swing arm
    Custom r1 plastics
    Fully road legal
    Updated wheels
    Stainless exhaust with scorpion can
Universal clocks (not fully wired in)
Done around 100 miles since belts change
    Private plate that's rather egotistic
    M3 1 lov (me I love)
    Taxed and mot'd

  3. difficult one as it's a bit hybrid plus I always seem to over value them - do you know any more history/state and mileage of the engine ? I would tether that rear brake hose unless you're going to put a hugger/chain guard on it.

  4. I know it was built as a track bike but never got there. Then engine has been rebuilt but unsure of how long ago. The only problem I have found so far is the left coil pack isn't performing as well as it should as in low end speed it's not happy coughs a bit but easy fix and rear hose has been clipped down :) the only other thing that's wrong is when the frame was powder coated the frame numbers disappeared. I have alot of proof that is it the bike is what it say it is with full receipts for frame and work done on the frame

  5. hmmm.. I don't have to say a word do I ? :) - i'm sure you know they won't MOT without eyes on that number , and you will all most certainly take a big hit on the price if you can even sell it.

  6. Was that the sound of foot steps running a mile I just heard?

  7. Lol I do plan to get the frame sent back to get the frame numbers put back in. I'm not planning to sell at any point soon just wondering what is worth

  8. Iv been told they can X-ray the frame to see the numbers is this true? As it will need to be done before the next mot

  9. I have no worries about the origin of the frame as I know the bloke that built it well. I don't mind putting more money into it to get the bike perfect. It's been well looked after ( parked in his front room)

  10. Ohlins front forks from 1098 (I think)

  11. The only way to show the vin would be to scratch the coating off over the numbers. If you get them re-stamped you won't sell it in a million years. The stock vin is centre punched in, not stamped in digits as I'm sure you know. It's hard to quote a value as without a visible vin it's not really saleable?

  12. Suggestions on what to do?

  13. Get a Stanley blade and carefully and neatly removed the powdercoat from over the vin the lacquer over it. My local powder coating firm mask over the vin to stop this issue. A thin coat of brush paint over the vin leaves it clearly visible.

  14. Cheers :) if that fails what are my options?

  15. Look like Std Showa tin coated and powder coated black or anodized to me. :)

    brian.

  16. Certainly not 1098 forks, or 999 either, I'd say original fitment showas

  17. Sell it for spares. It has no value without some service history AND a valid and legible chassis number. No original panels or seat either? Last taxed when?

  18. Indeed, probably worth more broken for parts than as a complete bike.

  19. No, the 1098 forks have radial brakes.
