nemesis traction control?

  1. Well hello everybody.

Just wondering if anyone's fitted/used the Nemesis traction control system on their bike?

It'd be perfect if someone's used it on a 996 but any info would be great.

  2. I have it fitted on my Desmo and I did so mainly for the failsafe value of it perhaps saving me highsiding one day when it would then suddenly pay for itself in a heartbeat.

It is very slick and unobtrusive compared to the factory TC system fitted to my Panigale (which cuts power more crudely), and therefore I have rarely felt it. The main impact is that you get a slightly softer "fluffy" throttle response coming up out of corners (on track) if you have it on max settings, but once you are on level 4 or 5, I have rarely felt it and imagine it is fine.

The best thing about it is that you can obviously change tyre map as well. With most other systems, you can only use one tyre on one particular bike. With the Nemesis, you can select bike, tyre, wheelie control, trackday and race versions of everything. Therefore you have a different map for a Michelin slick in race to Michelin slick on trackday version, and then you change it again if you switch tyres to Dunlop NTecs etc. That way, the system only kicks in once that tyre map's slip parameters have been exceeded, not when the different profile of a different tyre is messing with the system.

Otherwise, it's an elegant bit of kit and I although I haven't felt it working excessively, I am sure if I was really ham fisted I would. It is there for me as a failsafe. I rode the desmo plenty without it without drama, but like the backup of it being there.

  3. Oh that's great. Hearing how good some factory tcs systems are I was a little sceptical about how good this would be as just a bolt on system. Sounds like you fitted it for the same reason I want to which is the fact that one save and it's paid for itself.
I can't deny I would like a system I could lean on for going silly on the track but any help is better than none.
I'd say you've been a great help, the wife would say you've just cost me about £1800 but being a bit broke, I'll start saving now and hope to get one for the summer.
    Thanks very much.

  4. Alan Knight, KRR in Thundersport, runs one i think on his 1098r bike

  5. Well I've just buggered any plans up anyway. Doing a little looksi on the interweb today and I saw a GRIP1 system which I kinda like the sound of.
Glad I've got a few months to decide.
