Hi All, Bit of help or warning as to what will happen next, History, bike not ridden for 9 months, on optimate, replaced whole load of item but nothing engine, gearbox wise, Had battery out for 2 days, all fitted back ok Ignition on, noticed time incorrect, bike will not turnover on button, not even click of solenoid, neutral light not illuminated?? Lift stand, clutch in bike starts, shift bike into 1st then 2nd, down then up into neutral, still no neutral light, turn bike off, on again, will not turnover again, Start again as per above, go ride 1 mile, neutral light intermitant at junctions etc, Back home, in neutral, bike on stand, idling away, bike cuts out, check dash and no neutral light, will not start on button, Does this sound like imminent failure of gearbox or anyone had this spooky scenario? Could it be something to do with entering Latimer setting on dash when sorting clock? Any help is appreciated, I don't fancy a gearbox failure so soon after returning to ride, thankyou
Faulty neutral switch or dodgy connection on the switch connector or loom connection, its the bladed connector on the back of the gearbox. Easy to test, its either open or switches to earth.
On the vertical portion between the shock and exhaust, mine's a bullet connector, switch sits in recess?? Thank you
