  1. hi all just bought my first ducati....a 2011 848evo. exellent condition 4500 miles fdsh, belts done, and termi slip ons thrown in. £7000. Thought it wasn't a bad deal.

Lots of mods in mind. Looking forward to owning a ducati :)

  2. Welcome Dave :)

  8. Hello & welcome. Congrats on the bike. :upyeah:

  9. Nice one fella, joined the fold myself not long ago with a 2010 848. Done a fair bit to it already and it's a lovely thing to own and ride, decent forum this, just in time for summer:upyeah:

  10. Hey how's your 848 going? What sort of mods did you have in mind for yours?

  11. Hey Steve the bikes great, I bought it without a viewing, or having ever riding a sports Duke. It was standard apart from the seat. I went from gixxer6 2013 which was a great bike just soulless. Looked around for a bit and then saw an 848 and fell in love! When it was delivered I was gutted as I couldn't really touch down without hanging off it as I'm a shortass, I removed the superpole seat and fitted a standard one, I also sourced a 1098 suspension height adjuster and fitted that. Ride height sorted! Next came a couple of near misses due to the crap mirrors and my stiff neck! I fitted Oberon mirror extenders and little blind spot mirrors which work fantastic!
I was going to wait for my standard exhaust replacement but I saw some termis with Ecu and race filter on fleabay and couldn't resist! With some help from this great forum especially Chris W I got it all fitted and wow was it worth the effort! Just fitted my first piece of carbon this week which I'm sure is just the start and there's a few other bits I'll do in time. Levers, pegs, seat cowl all on the list....
As far as the ride goes I've loved it from day one, just feels a priveledge to be on board, not crazy quick but aggressive yet smooth, steering is sweet, intense experience every time:upyeah:
    Any pics yet??

  12. Sounds great! I came from a triumph scrambler and Harley's before that. So a pretty big change up for me. I did some work for ducati at the nec last year helping out showing the new bikes and sales, awesome experience always had a soft spot for ducati's since then.

was going to go for a Daytona but had a blast on a 848 at the local dealer and fell in love. L twin sound...bags of character....and the looks

Had it two weeks so far. I know it's not the most comfy bike but that's not why we buy them is it. Gonna ride it for abit before changing bars/ pegs. I do find the rear brake lever is not where I'd like it. Don't know if others find this something they have addressed...rearsets?

I'm used to removing mirrors for asthectics, so might do that as they are useless. The guy I bought it off threw in the termi kit slip ons, filter n ecu. Fitted them last weekend, without the baffles n heading through london was a blast...earplugs a must!

Have a few ideas for mods, have ordered a few bits from the states. I will post vids, pics as I go ppl might find interesting

Pics abit stock but...lovin it so far
    Steve

  13. Harley to Duke that is a leap! Those Ducati girls must have been good company! :Woot:
I find it a comfy sports bike, tank takes pressure of wrists but only done 50 mile hikes up to now. Back brake is pretty useless tbh, not sure I could hack the bike in London not the easiest at low speed.
    Nice bike:upyeah:

  14. Cool bike

  15. Had my 848 a few weeks now. Have had the chance to try a few mods.

Have Just fitted some DP slim line mirrors I really like. They are not in video link but will do another one soon.

Wanted something different so took the plunge and ordered the Toce exhaust and TST intergrated tail light. Ordered parts from the states in all took a week to arrive so not to bad. Customs duty a painful £230

Toce exhaust slips ons: found them to be a poor fit(had to cut the mid pipe to make them fit). Also shave out unessasary powder coating. One on they Sound stunning. At pace on back roads they are musical bliss but seem way to loud in town. The baffles are in but sometimes I feel ott noise is to much., you know what I mean becomes taky. I think I will have a try at adding some wadding to the baffles to lessen the noise. Or revert to termis.

Anyway here's a short vid if anyone is interested.

  16. I like the pipes. Definitely different and loud and raw. Shame about the fit. Makes my standard pipes sound like a moped.

  17. Looks smart, cant understand why you would fit those pipes over Termis though? I did look at them and they are a very 'raw' sound but I just dont think they look as good as the Termis and would be a bit too raw for general use? Each to their own though and Im sure they sound amazing full chat...
    Enjoy your bike:upyeah:
