If I have interpreted the email from Silverstone correctly, for August 2023, all stands will be roaming for the whole weekend apart from Abbey B, Club Corner, Hamilton Straight, International Paddock and the Fanstands at Club C, Village B and a TBA Ducati stand, which will be reserved seats only for the whole 3 days. Looks like some of the negative feedback about roaming has finally sunk in and the’ve gone back to how it was years ago. Earlybird tickets are on sale from today, 3 day weekend, reserved stand prices start at £145, 3 day general admission prices start from £95. Andy
That is the question. With them using the F1 pits and start line this time, I’d have said Village but A is open roaming and B is the Marquez Fanstand. We would normally have sat in Woodcote A where you get to see down the Dunlop straight, Stowe, Woodcote and the (now old) start/finish straight. We’ll probably do Club now. Andy
Nah, no atmosphere. Decided after this year, we’ed glamp again, had a great time. Arrived Thursday and wondered around during the Day of Champions, stayed for the auction, did Friday, Saturday Sunday and left Monday mid morning. Did the 3 nights live ‘entertainment’ (it was awful but it was live and we were inebriated), saw all 3 FP’s from different locations and race day at Woodcote. Felt very much more engaged with the event and had a stress free blast. Andy
Just waiting to see what the campsite prices are and I'll probably book ASAP. ducati fan stand also TBC.
Early bird discounts end tomorrow, Friday 18th November. I’m not sure what the discounts are worth but my tickets and camping are cheaper than last year by about £150 maybe £175. Andy
Reported to be 100,000 over the weekend and only 41,000 on Sunday. Yes, Silverstone is expensive (the buy out of the unfulfilled Donington contract wasn't cheap) and for the first time, ITV showed the racing live on terrestrial TV. The BSB didn't pull the crowds in over the full season either. Andy
Do you get free binoculars with your Silverstone tickets so that you can see the bikes? I went to the last GP there in 86 before it moved to Donington, rained all day, watched Gardner win the 500s and swore I would never pay to go there again. Went to many GPs at Donington over the years but these days I would much prefer to get ripped off by the Steam Racket Company to get close to the action on the Isle of Man.
Crowds certainly aren’t what they used to be my dad has chopper pics of brands on race day and you can’t see any grass for people. They used to get the figures for a whole weekend but in one day years back
