There's a unregistered RS125 on eBay at the mo. What's the feelings towards buying it purely to sit in its crate for a few years? The RS250s are going for silly money at present, and would an usused 125 be the same in a few years? i know its a bit of a contentious point to simply buy a bike to gather dust, and I must say I'd struggle not to register it and use it myself, but with two one litre plus bikes I think it'd be rather wasted (or totally loved and the only one used, leaving a 1198 and zzr1100 sat there!). Any opinions please? It's £4k, although I'd try getting some knocked off if only because the dealer wouldn't be pdi'ing and registering it.
aren't there two unregistered ones from the same dealer? - have you done you research and found out how many they made before buying as an investment? I know it may be the last of the 2 strokes, but is it really that special?
I have one, a 2005, full power, reasonably tidy. TBH, I am not sure what value they will reach but they won't get to RS250 money, the 250's are really desirable. £4K, It won't ever be worth more, or anywhere near that IMHO. There were a LOT made as well.
the 250 is what you want, but they are peaking now. I made a huge mistake, sold mine (that had been in Fastbikes Mag) for £2500 and now it is probably worth nearly £4500-4750, the prices have jumped that much. The reason I am so confident in this, is because a mate has a super rare RGV250 VJ23, dealers are asking £6000+ for them because there is only around 30 that have ever been in the country, the RS is much more common but so many were tracked that I would be suprised if there are more than 100 clean road bikes out there now, the 125 however there are probably still a lot more than that.
