  1. At 59 years old I am delighted to announce the arrival of my new baby - a very clean 2001 MY unmolested 748R.

It all happened very quickly, I didn't know I was expecting until Wednesday and she was delivered on Friday :biggrin:. Now I know what a puppy with two tails must feel like. Andy

  3. Nice clean looking bike, enjoy it. I bought a 748R when they were first announced in 2000, and I'm still enjoying it now :)
Are you going to leave it as it is, or do you have any plans?

  4. Paint it red?

  5. Having decided many months ago not to buy an 848 Streetfigfhter, clearly this was meant to be. Yes the inclusion of the bins was clearly my subconcious remembering that theme. :upyeah: Andy

  6. Short term as it is taxed and MoT'd is to reaquaint myself with aching wrists when the weather permits. Medium term is to make good use of a collection of RS parts I already have from a previous project and find some 30mm offset triple clamps. Longer term depending on funds an 853 conversion. Just for you Andy, I most definitely won't be painting it red although if I can sort out some good plastic I would be prepared to match the tricolore paint job on a 748 Cup carbon race seat that I have. 7. I'll be interested to see that.

  8. I will be taking a full photographic record which I'll put into an album for all to see. I also foresee the need to have a record to remind me what it looked like when the time comes to put it all back to standard. Andy

  10. Looks Well. :upyeah:

  11. Add a few carbon bits demist the usual headlight problems and she will come up lovely.

  12. Sweet bike but get shot of those horrible preload adjusters.

  13. And you missed the Pro Bolt set of anodised yellowy gold bolts and frame plugs - yuk ! They will get replaced in the fullness of time. Gonna need something to keep me occupied in the long dark nights that are coming. Andy

  14. Stunning bike,

ild love a ducati in that shape

  15. lovely bike mate. im proud of you. its also very rock n roll when youre knocking on the door of 60 to be riding around on a toy like that...it gives me hope.
keep us updated if you plan on chucking some bling at it....
oh, and keep it yellow..thats how it was meant to be.

  16. Lovely unmolested garage door too ! :upyeah:

  17. Absolutely stunning mate :) how much more power did they have than standard 748's? They were cam belts every year on the 'r' weren't they?

  18. Lovely bike. Good to hear father and baby are doing well. Do you have a name yet?

  19. As far as I can see about 5 or 6 hp more than the 748SPS and about 10 more than a Strada but the R revved to 11500 which is in the order of a 1000 more than anything else. Not looked at the service requirement yet but given the highly strung nature of the beast it wouldn't surprise me. Andy
