Get to pick up my new (to me) Multistrada this afternoon. The beautiful spring weather has just turned into typical British drizzly spring weather to mark the occasion. Spent the last 12 years on a naked SV1000 so looking forward to a bit of sophistication, stability and brakes that actually make a difference. On the look out for the satnav mount that goes over the top of the clocks on a 13/14 1200s if anyone has one getting in the way... I apologise in advance for the many stupid questions that are doubtless going to be released shortly...
This chap has a sat nav mount https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/multistrada-1200-2013-twin-spark.68292/#post-1305162 and welcome. Andy
Welcome Mark, good to meet you last night.I hope you enjoy your new Multi to play with!! The weather will get better soon. Always sat nav holders here https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/multistrada-1200-2013-twin-spark.68292/
Welcome along, enjoy the new bike. Navihalter is a really good sat nav mount for the Multi Don’t expect too much from the back brake All the best with purchase
Looking to have a week of shake-down activity (Fitting rack (cheers PeterT) , sat-nav, grinning lots etc) then got a week off work so considering a jaunt to mid-north Wales to see if the bike is really as good as I'm expecting it to be. Granted it'll be a bit wet and cold but hey fairing, heated grips, new jacket should be fine so long as the Italian electrics are as improved as I've been lead to believe.
If I go out in the wet, I routinely do a precautionary squirt of a proprietary water dispersant, WD40 for me. Then to prevent any residue build up, on the odd occasion I do a quick squirt of proprietary electrical contact cleaner. My Multistrada is 7 years old this year, gets ridden in all weathers and so far, all my switchgear still works when required. The only switch I have not done, the steering lock rocker behind the headstock, is snafu’ed. Andy
Hi Mark and welcome to the forum plus congrats on your new bike. Have a great time in Wales, it's my playground.
Any location/accommodation tips? Was going to stay in the Elan Valley for a couple of days then head a bit further North but no real experience or time to do the full research. Other option is just to point the front wheel at the lightest bit of sky and hope for the best.
Welcome & enjoy Mark. Anytime you fancy heading mucchhhh further west I’ll give you all the tips you’ll need.
So far very impressed. Givi rack fitted. Consumption set to mpg which was harder than expected. Various bits of stuck on carbon bling removed. Looking forward to a ride out in the morning. Discovered a bit of paint blistering on the engine casing. Anyone know a suitable paint code to sort it out
Elan Valley is lovely if the weather is OK, one of my favorite places. Plenty of B&Bs and hotels in and around Rhayader. As its only just over an hour from mine I haven't stayed there other than as a group in a bunk-house. Was here > http://www.beilineuadd.co.uk/, they do B&B too. Heading further north Bikers Retreat in Dolgellau https://www.bikersretreat.net/ is a possibility. At girlfriends tonight and tomorrow, if you want some route suggestions I can send some over on Sunday.
You must be the first to go in that direction Mark! If it's not wanted advertise it for sale on here and you'll be surprised how quickly it will go, to get stuck on someone else's bike.
Carbon components are usually a nice upgrade. However stick on carbon look plastic stickers less so. This delightful example was not only a bit tacky but at a jaunty angle too. Also, is the sticker printed upside down or has somone put the bar clamp back upside down? Luckily the rest of the bike is pretty...
