Just checking in, as a relatively new member. I bought my first Ducati, the 848 Evo (and only my second bike). I resigned from my job. The sun came out! Perfect combo of events. Did 200 miles on it today. Starting to get more comfy on the bike. I had been frustrated at the mirrors. However, today I figured out finally what most of you already know I guess. To use the mirrors you just move your elbows out a bit! Felt so stupid afterwards. Anyway, loving the bike. Cheers, Dub
You'll get used to the chicken dance. And I assume you have a new job to go to? If so congrats on that too
Nice going I did similar six months back. Tried to be a little bit sensible with the payoff and eventually just spent it all on bikes!
You should buy bikes Bradders, that helps in these situations! You'll need something to get to work on like a 1299S and once you get a contract you'll have some spare cash for trackdays so should probably get a dedicated track bike as the 1299S is for work.
Not too far from my plan as it happens...got the multi for commuting, trumpet goes and big sports bike comes in...
Holy sh%t 200 miles on it lol, I have managed 120 mile round trip and half way home realised I had bitten off 2 much lol. I am planning on a 150 mile round trip tomorrow on my new toy weather permitting ( the 848 evo is just visable in the garage) its no trip round Europe but I am convincing my wallet it is a far more comfy option than the 848 . I plan to take many photos of my adventure while pulling in for a fag brake along the way lol. The weapon of choice is pictured below. I am now preparing my epic trip by digesting several cans of p%ss water :-(
so, end Sept its GL for me, and likely I won't be job hunting until mid Oct (providing I don't trip over one). Thinking a few days away on the multi may be in order....fingers crossed fro decent early Oct weather!
Every time I reached the end of a contract on a Friday there was always another one waiting to be started the following Monday. When just the once there wasn't, it was February and not really biking weather :-(
Let me know if your heading for the cafe's in Llandovery bradders, I'd like to pick your brains about suspension.
