The Contis I got off eBay from Gowanloch in Australia eventually arrived today. Look good on the bike; Sound good too
28,367 miles. I bought it off a Ducatisti member a couple of years ago. I've put about 2,000 on it since then. It now runs ST2 barrels, pistons and heads. I like your avatar, from ResEdit isn't it? Obviously you're also a Mac person
Exporting items from Oz is easier these days, thanks to the death of The Wicked Witch of The West. (Or Thatch, as I liked to call her.) On topic: 907 was the first model that made me drool over Ducatis.
It wasn't cheap but the silencers were a good price and there are no new cans of any sort available in the UK for the Paso series. The ones that come up on eBay occasionally are usually all dinged and rusty. Even with paying the £100 delivery and getting stung for customs they were still half the price of a pair of Contis for a bevel.
You're right. it is indeed the ResEdit icon which I always thought amusing. I am a Mac person, without being a Mac expert. I even made myself a ResEdit t-shirt. I had Spark carbon pipes on my 907ie and they were brilliant. Looked great and made a superb noise and weighed nothing. Plus they gave me more power and fuel economy. I wonder if they can still knock up a set...
I'll look forward to hearing those sometime Derek, be interesting to compare them with mine (though mine are baffled...slightly)
I worked with Macs from the late eighties until I got an early retirement deal 2 years ago. First thing I bought with my retirement cash was a new iMac  Too late now ... I've spent all my cash on the Contis
They don't sound like any other Ducati I've heard Dave. I'd wondered if they'd sound like a bevel but they don't. The cam timings are quite different and also I think because the belt engines rev higher and rev up much quicker. It will be interesting to compare with your SC but these are genuine Contis with nothing in them but that lovely spiral-fluted straight through tube.
The spiral flutes are also in mine though I have the optional baffles in as I was more interested in aesthetics than volume.
