New Ducati St2 Owner

  1. Hi I have just become a Ducati owner,

I have owned and rode bikes for the last 24yrs everything from 50cc peds to busa's etc..... never owned a Ducati, been away from bikes for a couple of years, and wasnt even looking for a bike but this ST2 sorta dropped on my lap and for the right price.

She is a 1998 ST2 so a old girl now, my friend who I bought it from he took ownership of the ST2 7 years ago rode it home, stuck it in the corner of he garage and she sat there ever since.

She needs a good service and belts etc... before I consider put it back on the road, but as I needed to get it back to my garage the only real option was to ride it, unbeliveably the old battery which had been flat for 6 plus years (0.1v) took a charge and had enough angry pixies to crank the bike into life (will get a new battery) and the 7 yr fuel still had even good stuff left in it to make the bike run.

I need to go through the bike nose to tail but so far I think she has the good basis for a clean modern day classic toy,

So first job is to pull her clothes off and see what gremlins she is hiding am sure we will have a long list.

We’ll wait a few weeks for the next thread, it’ll take that long to get the fairings off:joy:. Shite design that they are compared to those on the 748/916/996 series that came off the design table at the same time
