Fitted this from Storm. Have to say I'm really impressed. Lighter than the original and better looking (in my opinion) Doesn't really sound much louder at all, so perfect.
I did check the valve (and lubricate it) it was moving very freely. I'd have liked to get rid of it but wasn't sure about all that "put a spring on the cable stuff,,,," Was shit scared of the bloody light / lump mode coming on so I just left it alone. Happy with the pipe though
The spring + flap valve cable adjustment is relatively simple and pretty fool-proof if you use a decent quality spring. It will only be a matter of time, despite good intentions with regular lubrication of the flap valve, for it to fully lock up and affect the running. Up to you of course, but taking the end can off frequently used to drive me mad, and for what it's worth, the flap valve locked-up on my 2010 1200, 2014 Pikes Peak and my current 2018 1260.........
Nope I agree with u and I'd prefer it "fixed". So what exactly do I do? Just drill the valve(or leave it in the open position) I presume. It's the spring bit I don't really get. I presume I slip a spring over the end of the cable and just attach it to something nearby?? Happy for some advice here please? Thanks
Disconnect the cable and thread a spring on, so the ECU feels the resistance. I did this, following the thread on here and it works great. Though now have the full termignoni system with upmap so it's moot now.
GofG, There is already a thread here on the forum, so I suggest doing a search first and it should direct you to the very subject matter, for you to review and guide you likewise. When I get a chance, in between watching the European rugby, I'll look it out for you and send you the link. It's really not that complicated, so don't be concerned. You just need a decent strength and appropriately sized spring and away you go.
GogG, Here's a link on this very subject. Yes it refers to the 1200DVT, but is pretty much identical on the 1260.... https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/posts/1474768/
I'm with you. Fitted a Healtech Exhaust Servo Eliminator. Dumped the muffler and flap valve and stuck a decent pipe on it. Best £50 spent and worries about springs, valves, amber warning light etc almost put to bed fir good.
