Hands shaken Sat am bike in garage by night... so heres the scoop - yellow 748r (i dont like the colour) - registered late 02 - i am the third owner. current owner had it since 2011 formed part of a collection inc 916sps, 999r and this (which i relieved him of!) - supplied and serviced by ducati london south before they left the scene (for reasons we all know) - 9.2k miles - late model ie ohlins front and rear (not steering damper) and 'clean' fairing - metzler sportec rubber - ally termis and carbon termis (both ecu chips supplied inc the little storage box) with link pipe - 2 sets of keys inc one which still has the rubber sheath on never used inc the yellow plastic tag! - original rear paddock stand - original tool kit - j cloth style cover in red (not originally supplied i believe) - datatool system 3 (removed some time back but led still in dash) - lots of paperwork including old mot certs, original bill of sale, service invoices, parts invoices, all handbooks etc - belts last done 2 years back and oils changed within the past 12 months and fork oil and seals replaced 2 years back - new original rear pads - new rear tyre (sportec m7 rr) - vendor offered to pull the sump plug so i could check the strainer but at this point i took his word for it given he was a bit of a duke nut - the only non standard thing i can see is that the clutch cover (the original one) has been professionally machined with 3 slots things i will need to do - full 12k service inc all fluids and cams pulled and clearances checked, rockers checked etc - new battery - datatag - resolve front headlamp fogging/misting - optimate (or new fly lead for my ctek) - touch up fairing - new front tyre (lots of tread but its an 06) - source new age appropriate clutch cover - new battery trim (the riser that sits under battery) - RIDE IT!!!
Looks nice well done. Not sure why you'd do that to the clutch cover but hey ho. Plenty of time to sort it and get some nice rides in this summer!
the vendor is a practical sort and wanted to be able to get an airline in there to blow out the dust etc!
i had my heart set on a red duke...and the r in red does look good whereas the sps in yellow looks awesome with the old skool decals
Yellow 748R's are for blokey blokes who ride to the coast of a weekend... Red 748R's are for damp dweebs on damp driveways... You can always buy red leathers - stay cool an all
If the belts were done 2 years back then they will need doing again, but you can sort that out as part of the 12k service. The misting headlamp is a common problem, take it off and squirt some break cleaner in it then use a cloth and something long & thing to rub it around etc. Sounds like a great buy!
