more pics i took at Zaltbommel in holland they had 5 R's lined up! This is the plastic shield from the standard exhaust... there is rumoured to be a carbon version in the Termi race kit!
Crickey that thing is nasty! Thankfully I just have the carbon full termi version on mine. This heat thing is a nonsense. My Desmo will actually burn your legs and heels it gets so hot if you aren't moving and getting some wind. Through town is horrendous. But who cares?! It's supposed to be a race bike, as is the Desmo. Just ride quicker. If you care about the heat then maybe you could put up with that nasty cover......
+1 I recall getting stuck in horrendous traffic a few years ago and the heat was crazy, not just your legs but everywhere... just turned the ignition off until I could move again... problem sorted
I have to do that quite often on the Desmo if I hit traffic! Especially if you are in London traffic. You ride to town, you hit the first set of lights - look at the dash (it says 85 degrees from when you were on the A3) and you feel the heat. In two minutes your feet are starting to burn up, and your legs are hot as hell (you can only put your left leg down - your right will burn on the exhaust!) and you look at the dash. It's now 100 degrees and rising fast..... 102, 105, 108, 110 ..... not yet green/amber.......where's the lights!......115, 118, 120 ...... "FFS, change colour!!!" ..... dash goes into flashing "HI" ...... legs are burning...... lights go amber - DROP CLUTCH AND GAS IT! You know the temp won't fall again unless you hit 35mph+........ so you cane it along the road, overtake everything to keep airflow up......dash back to 110..... "finally"..... you relax again..... then you realise you are doing double the speed limit again...... oops..... Then more lights! Repeat 50 times until you arrive at destination! Great bike though. Panigale feels very tame and compliant by comparison.....
WTF ! It looks like a melted down dustbin lid ! Ducati, what have you done ? I think Heath Robinson has taken over the design department at Ducati.
Cant get into this matt finish carbon, looks cheap and horrible and like someone has wrapped it invinyl
My dealer said they would up grade my bike to the new heat shield if I wanted to, but looking at it I can put up with quite a bit of heat before that gets fitted. lol
