Joined up to gather information about the 1260 V2 multistrada, a bike I am considering buying. I had a 916 back in the day, a great bike. I had a 2012 Monster Evo, not so great. So trying to assess if my urge to buy another Duc is realistic? Currently running a 1250gs (a bit bland, but a good reliable allrounder).
Welcome. The Multistrada and GS are miles apart in experience. A friend of mine who has ridden BMW’s all his life had a multi on loan a few months ago and in his words “it’s f*cking awesome and goes like stink”!
I have a 1260S, I'm not going back to sports bikes, having had most of the Ducati ones.. Welcome by the way
Welcome to the forum Shez1. Never owned a GS but ridden one briefly. Capable mile munching machine there's no doubt. I currently own a 1260s Multistrada, coming on for 5 years and 20,000 miles. Can't see myself changing any time soon. Rideouts in the UK and trips abroad. Solo trips, two up trips and great in the mountains. I'd say that the GS might be a marginally better long distance tourer but you'll have more fun on a Multistrada.
