New Insurance Option...

  1. Autonet Insurance Company - I wonder if they are all van drivers too - seems like a pure marketing gimmick to me - I found a review :)

    Why Choose Autonet Van Insurance?
Autonet is an award-winning broker in the UK that has been trading out of Stoke-On-Trent since 1998.

Autonet has grown year on year since then and is the UK’s largest independent van insurance broker.

Altogether, Autonet has three main brands called Autonet Protect Plus, Autonet Plus and Autonet Protect.

As well as three brands, Autonet also has a range of optional extras on top of its basic cover options, including:

  4. Dont touch em with a barge pole... i live in stoke on trent and know many who work there and the service they offer is crap and thats from their own staff...avoid at all costs, they also pay low wages and have a very high turnover of staff, the insurance is cheaper but the optional extras etc all add up to the same as a reputable company its all about the upsell

  5. Both principals will be at the NEC show for its duration, might be worth speaking to them personally for an opinion than dissing anonymously here?

  6. Hahahaha want to kid people? Pay off a celebrity to endorse ;)

  7. It would appear at first glance that Mackenzie and Hodgson are using an established insurance broker to fulfill their business model. Motorcycle insurance is as niche as it gets and is a very small community. It won't take long for their business to fold if Autonet make a cods of it. Andy

  8. I think it is the other way round Andy!

  9. I simply Googled to find out what was behind it - due to the 'we know bikes' advertising angle. I found loads of bad reviews - stating cheap, but generally stinging you for changes and generally poor customer service. But they appear to know vans :)
We are here to help each other with facts (and fiction) then people can make their own judgements.

  10. Of course, but as they are making themselves available and a fair proportion of forum users here will be in the same place at the same time, if one has concerns it makes sense to go and speak to them directly if one can.

One assumes they’ve done due diligence and also are aware of the effect on their own reputations if, as claims come in, poor feedback starts to appear.

I just like to give them the benefit of the doubt for their new venture and hope it works for them and for anyone who takes out a policy with them. Time will tell.

  11. Absolutely - some one can ask them if indeed it is their venture or they are just marketing tools like Foggy and others have been in the past. You need millions to start an insurance company I would imagine!

  12. Mackenzie Hodgson is just another broker not an insurance company. They are simply middlemen providing access to a panel of insurers. No money required beyond enough to pay your staff until the commission starts to roll in. Andy

  13. Autonet are a broker Andy.

  14. Yes
I know, I didn't read the insurance company sentence in your post as separate from the first sentence. Andy

  15. Tbf they were ok when Inhad my van. I even forgot to renew, found myself a week outside policy and 300 miles from home.

They had auto put me on cover and set up a new policy, and didn’t change me for when I changed the reg either. I didn’t cancel the policy tho, as there was 6m left and they still wanted me to pay a hefty cancellation

  16. I work for a multi national insurance company (both underwriters/brokers) in a senior role (who incidentally don't insure bikes or vans like Autonet so have no vested interest in taking business away from them) but in the "industry" they are seen as a joke for their after service and and attitude to their customers and sales techniques. Often giving a cheap premium the 1st year then loading it considerably the next, and as said often auto renew on this loaded premium and charging a very high cancellation charge.

But hey ho... the reviews speak for themselves if you care to look and read. They're mostly negative feedback with very few positive comments to counter balance...

All insurance companies are good until either your premium goes up massively or there's a claim to be made, that's when you realise how good they really are.

  17. On a visit to the NEC Bike Show this week. I bumped into Neil Hodgson! I asked him to sign my Fila Tail piece, that I happened to have in my back pocket...

Anyway, Nail Mackenzie and Hodgy, have teamed up together, and are now selling Bike insurance... WWW.MACKENZIEHODGSON.CO.UK

Might be worth trying these guys when your insurance comes up for renewal..

I wish them all the best................

  18. There’s a thread on this. Essentially they have just stuck their name on a broker product. One that specialises in vans and are moving to bikes. That seems the end of their involvement

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  19. Apologise if its old news....... But Hodgy was very present, and active, at the Insurance stand of his....
