hello the seller has sent me a new spare key for my ducati but it needs to be coded .problem is its 300 miles to my ducati dealer is there anywhere closer that can code my key for me. Am in aberdeenshire
You don't need to have a dealer do it. You should have a code card with the bike. You enter the reprogramming menu, put the code in and then reprogram the keys. Pretty sure it's in the handbook. If you don't have the code card, then that's a different problem unfortunately.
You need to establish if the new key is a dealer supplied pre-coded one or a blank aftermarket one. If it's the former you need the code card to program it to the dash immo. If it's the latter then you need to clone your working key to it. Some have been able to convince the guy at the Timpsons Shoe Bar to do the clone work using their key machine. They don't do the DUCATI key so some agree to just do the cloning.
