Hi, i'm new to the forum and just in the process of buying a hyper, currently own a 790 duke. I can't decide between the 939 base or sp. I mainly ride on the backroads in the peak district, bumpy, choppy roads in Yorkshire etc. How would the suspension on both models cope? I have read a few times the sp is very firm, i'm about 13.5 stone undressed. I love my 790 but on some of the bumpy roads it ties itself in knots and is totally unadjustable, bar rear preload. I'm not too keen on the looks of the new 950 but seen a couple of base 950's around my budget, how would this compare? I'm hoping to get out on a couple of demos next week but phoned a couple of dealers with the sp but they won't do a test ride. Sorry for all the questions.
Bomble (my phone wants to change it to nimble) I like it bomble is my new word Anyway I digress from my bin pics we like them Welcome into our mad house
i had the sp . it is a very tall bike compared to the base model . i had to balance on tip toes whenever at a standstill. The suspension is firm compared to the base model but i found that i could overwhelm the standard model suspension on yorkshires B roads.
I’d go the sp....but I’m biased and have the sp. All the bling is worth the extra ££ and it’s more desirable when selling. I had my suspension set up while at the track
