So guys, I know this has probably been done before, but what is everyone's tyre of choice at the moment ??? I am looking to change and wanted to try something different and would appreciate some feedback, preferably a tyre which will be sticky and last more than 1000m. (Hyper 1100 is mainly used on B roads/back lane surfing)
Something different? Try something like these, never used them myself but they're different from the run of the mill stuff. Michelin Trial Comp X11 - Rear - Michelin Trials Tyres - Michelin Mx & Enduro Tyres - Motocross Tyres & Wheels - Parts
Hi M55russ, I was thinking to try the Michelin Anarkee 111 on my Hyp evo but they don't do a 17 front so I decided to stick with the Bridgestone BT016 pros, way better than the original Pirelli's & last longer. Bridgestone BT016 excellent wet & dry, on my 3rd rear 2nd front, expect 3000-3500 rear & 5k front. It seems all my riding has been in the wet since November... Mainly B roads.
Had BT30s fitted to my Hyper and I am very impressed - got caught in a torrential downpour but tyres were awesome and grip in the wet was fantastic. Confidence level increased. Would certainly recommend. Cheers, Moses.
T30s are a crackin' year round tire with great wear rates. Have them on a 990 superduke and a 1098 'fighter and there hard to beat
I'm running Dunny Roadsmart 2s on the SP at the moment. Plenty of grip in all conditions and have been known to smoke a little after a ride!
Metzeler Z8 Interacts for a sports touring tyre, Dunlop SportSmarts for something a bit stickier. That said, I'm so happy with the Z8s on my Fazer 1000 that when my SportSmarts wear out on my Muti, I'm putting Z8s on that too.
Everyone has there favourite tyres , theres not many average riders out there that will push road tyres to there limit anyhow , i get super corsas ex bsb tyres parn worn scrubs ......... say there part worn only right on the edge where there bobbling , loads of life left last set were 6 weeks old and at £80 a pair you can afford to use them .
Just be careful with ex race scrubs, they are designed for a number of heat cycles and warmers. Not ideal for cold winter or spring mornings..
Agree , but op looking for sticky tyres so assuming here hes a fair weather rider , thing is with the L twins is they have so much low down grunt on the cold mornings and cold roads they can get a bit twichy with nearly any tyre fitted
