1199 New Sensor, Relay Found??

  1. So I'm stripping my 1199 ready for Valencia and I find a new sensor/relay velcro'd to the left hand side of the nosecone which I know wasn't there last time I removed the bodywork. The bike has just come back from JHP and I know they also did a wiring loom recall on the left hand switchgear is this related to this or is this something else?

  2. Yep. It's part of a small sub loom that's plugged into the loom running down the inside of the fairing panel. The lh switchgear isn't the problem and this update mods the canbus wiring

  3. When did this update / recall come out? I thought I had all the recalls done but I know nothing about this. Did it apply to 2012 Panis?

  4. It's not a recall. It's a tech bulletin applied to bikes having or potentially having problems with indicator operation. Can't recall the extent of coverage. It's flagged up at service against vin number.

  5. So am I safe leaving it disconnected on a TD Nelly? Won't affect the lap timer etc?

  6. I'd leave it in situ Jon. If you are going to remove it, I'd take the sub loom out completely and return wiring to stock

  7. Cheers mate
