Just a quick hello, just bought a lovely clean original 1996 600 SS and after a 30 year absence from motorcycles (last bike I rode was an RD 250 on L plates!) I am just in the process of finishing off my direct access, so if all goes to plan should be able to get back in the saddle on the 28th June! The bike is in superb condition, it has had the belts replaced and has been serviced, so ready to go. At the moment I'm just enjoying getting it ready, fiddling and fettling etc. If it helps I managed to find the exact colour match for the touch up paint (the previous owner had used the wrong colour). it is 473.101 and available as a touch up paint off Amazon

Good luck with the test! A 750ss was the carrot in front of me to pass with one minor! Once you pass, you won't look bike, perfect way into Ducati ownership.
Same here Bought my SS before I had passed my test gave me a great incentive to pass first time ...... Oh and I did too
Thanks YD, it's a very pretty bike and IMO a perfect first Ducati. I shall probably run it for 12/18 months, gain some experience before moving on to something else.

Well yes, that sounds like a plan. I have a 900ss ie 2003 and had originally thought i would move over to a 749 or something a little more up-to-date. but to be honest with you, every time i look at the bike it puts a smile on my face and that's it standing still!! What a thing to ride though....and the sound is amazing!!!!
