Well, I bought one of these Chinese Ebay steering dampers, 21 clicks of adjustment, compared to the standard Base model which has none. Hopefully the black finish will not reflect off the speedo. I just can't bring myself to pay 360 beer vouchers for a Swedish one, or similar. Was happy to spend 2 and a half K for suspenders tho', go figure!! It was a little mucking around to fit, the headstock mount spacers to reduce the bolt hole from 8mm to 6mm needed a little lurve with a file, to remove a lip. I had to thin the ball joint too, took about half millimetre off each side. Another method would be to space out the 6mm bolts to fit the 8mm hole with a small cylinder. No reduction in steering movement, which was my main concern, as actual length of this unit states 255mm, and stock is 270mm. There's a definite change in firmness as you wind the adjuster in, I think #9 seems about equal to the stock fixed setting. Will try it out and report back when it stops raining in the UK. Don't hold your breath!
