  1. Hi Guys Girls,

    Just a quick hello.

I'm new to the Ducati world, only been riding for 2 years but always liked the shape of the 999 so bought one last week in red!

    Pics to follow!

Only thing it needs is a rear mudguard / fender which I can't seem to find anywhere for a reasonable price! :(
Seen all the carbon stuff on ebay and its all £100+ for the 2006 models!

Don't mind using used stuff!, ideally spend about £50

I've put a notice in the wanted section of the forum, but just thought I's repeat here so any experienced members may be able to help!...

Just cant wait to get out on it!!

  2. Welcome :upyeah:

Ducati stuff, especially carbon, is never cheap. But you might get lucky asking on here. People are always selling bits n bobs. Huggers are a must.

  3. Hi Bootsam,

Yeah I know about the price...I don't mind if its a red/black plastic one either to be honest. just need one to stop any flicking up of junk on the underside and spring.

  4. Welcome Tony. Nice bike, the 999. Much underrated. If you can afford it,get a nice carbon one and a matching front. Your 999 deserves it!

  5. how do.

  6. Alright Dave?

  7. Look at every other post by ET and you will see.

  8. A fine choice of bike, seeing as I have the same one in black.

Save your pennies and buy a fine carbon hugger. Don't just bolt any old tat to it, treat it in the style to which it is, or should be, accustomed. 999 ownership isn't cheap, so you'll have to get used to it!

    Welcome and enjoy it.

  9. I actually want a red one that I can put a ducati corse badge on
    But can't find red!? Lol

  10. Do you mean a rear red one ? they were never colour co-ordinated to the bike .

  11. Sorry , Welcome Tony.

  12. Red huggers look extremely naff. Don't go there.

  13. yes red rear one would be ideal, saw one online with a red rear hugger and ducati corse badge and it looked good.

Then again, which ever one crosses my path first at a reasonable price will get snapped up

  14. Welcome to the forum

A hugger is a must to protect the rear spring.

The first mod you MUST do is have the suspension set up for you.

Another great mod is the R1 throttle.

    I've had my 999 since 2004 and it's a keeper.

  15. How can I adjust the suspension for me?
Do you think it is something I could do myself? (I do all my own car services etc to give you an idea of my ability (or not! lol))

Agreed re: the spring, its got bits flicked up on it and looks terrible, needs a deep clean under there and hugger fitted. Let me know if you come across one for a black swingarm version! lol
