New To Ducati & Quick Shifter False Neutral

  1. Hi.
I’m the proud new owner of my first Duke (2019 1200s monster) bought from another forum user & in great condition. After my first 200 miles I’m finding that I commonly hit a false neutral when quick shifting up and down between 5th and 6th. I’ve not used a QS before, but have tried to follow some forum advise of being firm with shifts, being on throttle when going up, and off when going down. Any other suggestions I should try, adjustments I could make, or is this just something to get used to and be ready to give it another shift on the occasions a neutral is hit? Aside from that I’m loving the bike, it’s so much more nimble and forgiving than my xsr700 I’ve come from. Thanks!

  2. You’re not slightly pressing your foot on the shifter are you? I’ve done this without realising when wearing my big winter boots on a couple of my bikes and it made the quick shifter do some weird things when I then go to shift gear.

  3. There is a bit of a false neutral between 5th and 6th on the 1200s with or without the DQS, it's just something I have learned to live with.

  4. The 1260s is the same. Try tightening your chain.
