Hi Folks I am new to Ducati and am about to buy a 600 Monster I have rode the bike and it seem to ride well does anyone know of any problems or anything I should look out for its quite an old bike . Thanks Steve ______________
You could try going on the Monster section of this forum and reading some of the threads there, or posting specific questions. Just a suggestion.
Short answer - yes, loads of things ! Longer and more serious answer - If it's an M600 with carburettors, then as long as it goes OK it should be fine. They are generally pretty reliable. A full service history, preferably from a main dealer with a recent service in it, is highly desirable. Ducatis do not like missing services. Check all the usual stuff that you would for any bike - wheel bearings, steering head bearings, chain and sprockets, make sure all the electrics work. After that if it's in a reasonable condition and you're happy with the price, go for it... They are a really fun bike !
Great bikes, loads get thrashed stupid 100% of time in desmodue and can only think of one or two that have gone pop in the 7 years its been running they love carb icing in the winter, the electrics love to play about a bit and the steelie tanks can pull crud thru so in inline filter is a great addition enjoy, they are fun and addictive little bikes
I hope you have a smooth purchase and the bike gives you lots of happiness. As Pete suggests, have a good little read through of the Monster threads. Welcome to the community
i had an M600 back in the 90s as a second bike and it was an absolute hoot...the downside was i ground both cans away in a couple of weeks.
