Wonder if this is what @tag_tim wanted to record the bikes for? New Isle of Man TT Races video game announced
"TT Isle Of Man – Ride on the Edge, which will be released in 2017, will feature many of the leading teams and riders who will be recreated digitally to accurately represent their team liveries and bike manufacturers. The game will be available for latest generation consoles and PC." How are they going to do that for Michael Dunlop? Even he doesn't know what team or manufacturer he's riding for till 20 minutes before the race!
Regarding (age) some of the best riders in the world were pretty amazing before they were old enough to have a bike licence. I've seen two up and coming race drivers at 16 > 17 beat ex championship international racers, that pace would be tenths off an outright lap record in the UK. Despite what most of us think, we would not come close to keeping up with some of these (younger) people (most have been at since a young age, with coaching as the brain develops, that means the brain is hard wired to race apparently a bit like learning to walk, where as learning later a learnt behavior like a habit. According to a book I read anyway which was to do with sports psychology. The bikes & cars they ride / drive are pretty fast compared to road going versions too. I am not gamer at all, not even a fan of Facebook. While I understand games are not real (and you can't learn to race on a computer) I did However do one hour on a race sim because someone I know was doing some market research for McLaren and recommend I try it. I was very skeptical. Not anymore, these race sim companies use the live data to teach you. That day made me faster round Silverstone, cheaper than a testing day. Now I have one, it uses the non - pro version of the same software (nightmare to set up) and the hardware is perhaps some of the best available to home users. When I missed testing assuming I'd been round Donnington, to find out the night before we were using the full circuit, it was a real help to be able to do 50 Laps that evening. I love seeing those who are ignorantly cocky, "great drivers" on it. I think it is a wake up call for some people. If I am really fed up at their BS I don't give them advice until they are ready to lose the plot.
fairly sure ducati dad meant as in attracting kids to bikes that dont already ride or have an interest in motorbikes, not ones who are natural born riders and been riding since they were old enough to stand up can only be a good thing surely?
Well prepare your anuses for disappointment: The developer, kylotonn hasn't delivered anything decent, ever. They're a small indy outfit with limited funding and are lower class than Milestone who developed the MotoGP games as of late.
I can see your point Red899 but I wasn't having a dig (I did not give that post a thumbs down, dislike.) My reply was factual and was not meant to sound offensive, apologies if it did. I digress again, kids are old enough ride bikes from a very young age, it's just not encouraged or affordable for everyone (I was in that last group). I'm also not convinced 100% some games are good for all kids who don't have reality to compare it to or the mental capacity of adult thinking. I do still think the right software can be beneficially in helping coach someone to better at motorsport though. The few young racers I've met are perhaps more mature than some adults in some respects but it's a bit sad (that level of expectation). I'd guess some of them do not have a normal childhood. I have a kid and I am not sure I wanting him riding a bike, I know I'm a hypocrite. Some of the stupid things I've got away with. I think I'd rather he raced than was a tit on the road like I was. I will perhaps taking him karting although I kind of hope he does not like it..
Apparently Danny Kent's little brother is something of a child prodigy....one of the lads at work knows someone who lives opposite his family....reckons the little brother is the one to watch...could be Chinese whispers but it was what I was told...
what I was told....not followed him myself...unless its a step or a half brother.....or something like that.... So good he doesn't even exist!!
Might have - it was canteen chit chat although its the said Danny that lives in Yeovil...I picked that much up...
