  3. Hi Mate, are these OK for touring and do you buy off the internet?

  4. I agree with Cookster, the Mich Road 5 are great, whilst an alternative that is just as good is the Metz MT01. It just depends on which you can get the best deal on at the time.

  5. Thank you - I think at the moment its like you say what you can get hold of.

  6. Yes mate they are a touring tyre. I put them on my blade as I was using in all weather and touring the North on it come May time.

  7. Hi, is there a difference between the Pilot Road 5 and the Road 5 - just seen both of these on the internet

  8. Same tyre. There is now a road 6 variant. I’m on 3rd set of Rd5 and they’re a great all rounder in the dry and one of the best in the wet.

  11. Cheers mate

  12. Had a few sets of road5s but was only getting 2.5k out of rear and 1 side of front would wear more, so decided to give metzeler M9rr a go and love them :upyeah:

  13. That's not a lot is it - its got the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 11 on at the moment with 5000 miles - i will take a llok at the M9rr - what sort of riding are you doing?

  14. Single spirited riding, 2 up spirited riding and touring with luggage ..... oh fairly spirited too:joy::joy: the wife loves a quicky :p

  16. Regards Knightriders post, as I never ride with pillion, mostly without luggage other than my once a year break(1000-2000miles) I get 5/6000+ out of a set of Road 5’s.
I’m changing to a new set within next 4 weeks and will be posting a full wear rate chart for those interested in how the Rd5’s have worn over time since last change.

  17. IME, the sort of mileage you will get from an M9RR will be about half what you are currently. It’ll grip right to the edge but tyre life is not one of its strengths. My 2p’s worth, the Metzeler Roadtec 01SE, I’m enthusiastic, I ride solo, I scratch, I tour and I’m an IAM RS observer. Good mileage for me is about 4000 and I change front and rear at the same time. 18. Ordered a set of Road 5's cheers lads for your help

  19. Great tyre, been using them for years. Might try the Pirelli Angel GT2 next though just for the sake of comparison.

  20. Has anyone tried the new Road6 or am I a bit presumptuous?
Not sure they’ve been out long enough for any report..
