Hi New to the forum, and fairly new to riding, thought I'd say hello. Also after some advice if anyone can help aswell. Don't actually have a Ducati....yet. Looking to pick one up as my next bike. Currently riding a 2007 zx6r but looking to upgrade soon and hoping to get a Ducati. Thinking 899 or 959 to start with. Have actually seen a 2014 899 panigale. Has all the bells and whistle - exhaust, levers, rear sets. Only thing is the mileage is on 24k and the bike has been used on track/racing. Any advice and thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Arfan
welcome arfan, I'd get a few years under your belt. Just to loosen the adjustment from car driving. To everyone is out to kill you mental technique....plus you'll have an off or two on the cheaper bike.
Welcome. First it's important to know if just a track day amateur or racer as they get ridden differently 99% of the time and also is it being sold as a race/track bike or road bike that's been on the track? Any major signs of unrepaired crash damage? Does it have a V5 if sold as a race/track bike? Does it need converting back to road and if so will it pass an MOT... Assuming that's what you'd want it for? What's the history with servicing/engine refreshes? Also make sure it had regular oil changes! Sure there's a 1000 other things others will suggest Jamie
Hi, About 7ish years ago I had a yamaha yzf r125 for several years, which I got bored of. Didn't have my full license so decided to get rid. Eventually got round to doing the full license and have had the zx6r for just over a year. Admittedly not many miles covered in that time (about 1k) with all the lock downs and working in the NHS. The brain is telling me to stick with the zx6r for another year or two at least. But the heart is wanting a Ducati lol
