  1. Morning ladies and gents.....

My name is Rik.....I live in Wickford in Essex........and in Istanbul at present.

I work for myself as a design consultant in the Automotive industry and am based in Turkey at the moment for 10 days then back home for 4.........

I am new to Ducati......but seem to have the bug.........

At present at home I have a 2003 fireblade........and a gsxr k1 race bike for trackdays.........

I am hoping to come home for good soon........and take some time off with my lovely wife and do some short distance touring around the UK.

My choice of steed.........is a GT1000........I have previously restored an old airhead BMW R80 and 'cafed' it using Ritmo Sereno parts and styling.........loved it....

I now seem to have a thing for the retro look..........

looking forward to chatting.................especially on these long days in Turkey.

ANYONE KNOW OF A NICE GT FOR SALE?????.................CASH WAITING...........

  2. morning from the cold grey UK

hope you find your dream bike - i;m sure you will

  3. Welcome from Hutton just up the road from you, I'll keep a look out for a GT for you. Were you named after the Rik out of The Young Ones?

    Keith.

  4. Welcome Rik, I'd stay where you are for a bit, at least till it warms up a bit here! Good luck with the search, I'm sure one will turn up soon. Chris

  5. Morning Rik and welcome to the mad house :)

  6. many thanks for the warm reception...............

    but

I know its not actually that warm in Uk............and...............I am looking at a snow storm at the minute!!!!!

Hello Hutton..........Nope sorry...........I am much to old to be named after the young ones...............

    thanks again for the welcome.........

No GT anywhere then..........???............already got my mods listed...........Fat Duc02, sport classic wheels and shocks, ST4 forks.............the list is endless

  7. The GT1000 is a smashing bike IMHO (I'm biased!!). Lots of potential for modification (and spending money).

    Mine has:

Termi kit (inc ECU & airbox lid) - no need for Fat DucO2
5-spoke Marchesini wheels - running tubeless Roadsmart tyres
    Hyperpro progressive fork springs
14-tooth front sprocket (makes the bike so much nicer to ride - more responsive at low speeds)
    DP flyscreen
    Carbon hugger
    Fender Extenda
    Optimate charging lead
    Wiring for Gerbing heated clothing

I'll keep an ear to the ground for anything coming up for sale.

  8. Hello and welcome

  9. Evening from what was a sunny Cambridge today and welcome to the forum ..... small world my sister was in Istanbul yesterday changing planes to Kuwait, she said on the way out here just before Cristmas that you had C**P weather :)

  10. There's a GT advertised on MCN... although I think the price is a bit steep.

  11. Thanks again people.......I have spoken to the shop selling the one one in the MCN.........it sounds and looks like a minter........I know its steep......but I just might go for it.......I'm an impatient git when I want something......

yes your sister was right........its been rubbish weather out here for well over a month now.....

changed my plan today also.......bitubo shocks and Alpina wheels..bang goes the savings....
