Hey all. Just done a deal for a new MTS1200 GT and take delivery once I return from holiday. Been reading through the forum the past week or so which has helped with the big change to the MTS1200.
Thanks both. I can't wait to collect it but stupid to have it sitting in the garage whilst I'm away n dealer has been great which helps a lot. I wouldn't mind one of them John. But being 6 foot 5 I have no chance of being comfortable on that. Is there many Ducati meets / runs in Glasgow area ?
Welcome to the forum Paul Look forward to seeing you in the Multistrada section of the forum......put yourself on the map: Multistrada Owners Maps ;-) ....and enter your bike details in your Profile Cheers Andy Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/UK.MTS1200.Owners
Hi mate, another glasgow punter here too(848 & 749s) seems theirs rather a lot of us around these parts
Paul I can't really answer your question as I don't go out on scheduled runs being old, slow and anti social. Think Ducati Glasgow have runs from time to time and I'm sure there must be a branch of the owners club up here. You could also look at Ducati Up North site. I don't visit it very often but it may be a place to get info on runs. I'm the opposite of you being a 5' 7" short arse I can sit on a 1098 but I'd need a box to get on anything like as Multi. Oh if you need assistance PM me (that goes for you too Colz) I'm no expert but I can hold a spanner and drink gallons of tea. John
Hi Paul I see we nearly share a name. Other than that I can be no help as I am living right at the other end of the country
Ducati up north/scottish ducati club do meets/runs every month. Ducati glasgow always does track nights every yr
Thanks for the info everyone. I tried to do it through tapatalk Andy but wouldn't let me so done it on web based and sorted now. I ordered a GT but looking at the forum I'm thinking I want a PP with the extras added now. Haha. Forums for ya !!
Well finally picked up the GT yesterday after a few weeks holiday in the states. Could wait to get back to collect it. Insurance wasn't what I was expecting though. Much more than I exceed and finally had to settle with HR insurance who although halved everyone else's quote we're still way above what I expected. But onto the bike now. So far managed over 200 miles and another few hundred planned of tomorrow. So a quick sum up of so far. With it being run in still I'm not using all the power but what I have used has been great. I got the Leo Vince carbon exhaust and collector replacement pipe done and it sounds great. Just what I wanted. The screen although high is still not fully covering me as I'm abnormally tall at 6'5". So I might end up swapping it out for a smaller tinted number and see how it goes. I'd say 6 foot and below would be fine with the GT screen for sure. Centre stand seems to get in my way when positioning my left foot so might end up removing that shortly. Back brake is bollcks unless I stand on it. But reading here its a known issue so new pads might help although I will ask dealer to bleed again as one of their demo bikes had a good brake. It's almost lie there is too much travel int he pedal but I'm no expert. Seat wise it's great for me with long legs although I wonder how shorter legged guys find the seat height. 2 up seems a little top heavy but its more my issue until I become used to it. The other half loved it and can sit back and relax whilst on the back Enough yapping from me for now and hopefully see some of you guys when I'm out on my travels.
Looks great Paul.....just wait until you've had the first service and start using a few more revs.......pas the second stage limit (1000miles) and the grin will be from ear to ear - Sport Mode rules! KO Insurance.....I bet this is a case of Insurers not having info on the latest models, early 2010 owners saw much the same with brokers/insurers pretty much guestimating premiums. Ducati Insurance ;-) Fiarly competitive and you get the benefit of speaking to someone who understands the bikes and they are very fair premium wise with cover of accesseries/extras/options e.g. along with everything else, my full Termi specified and made bugger all difference to the premium.
