Newbie From Weymouth

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Distressed DS Mark, Jul 8, 2022.

  1. Hi my name is Mark and I'm from sunny Weymouth. I have a couple of Ducatis. One is my trusty Capirex Monster which I use daily as I'm blessed with a 7 mile countryside ride to work. Brilliant sweeping bends - mostly with my son on the back on his way to school. The other is a 2004 Multistrada 1000DS which was in a mess when I bought it and I've been sorting out slowly over the last year. It has some issues and I need some help with it. I better get a move on too as the boy is now getting a bit big to perch on the small monster. Been riding since I could bunk school and offroad through Quarries instead on an rxs100. Had loads of bikes from two strokes in the late 90's to Jap sportsbikes but love the way Ducatis handle and if ridden right don't need tons of power to be quick. Had a 748 about a decade ago too. Hi!

I’m down that way in a few weeks. Recommend me some roads, please. :)

Love Dorset coast and Weymouth! Only driven though so looking forward to riding.

  10. Hi it will be really busy down here for the next 8 weeks, so best early morning or late at night but the B3157 from Weymouth to West Bay is an amazing coast road. Pull in at West Bay there is a dedicated bike park with Benches in the centre always someone about to share a story and a coffee. Weymouth bike night on the prom every Thursday night.

  11. Thank you!

  13. Greetings! Always liked Charmouth...

  14. That's not a bad shout, you could take the coast road I mentioned and then go on through Bridport to Charmouth.

  19. Hi Mark
You need only start a thread on here, listing any problems with your 1000DS as many people will help usually. The more description and detailed symptoms the better.

  20. Thanks Chris okay here's a question. What is the difference between the wiring harness/loom on a 2004 MTS 1000DS vs a 2005 MTS 1000DS different part numbers I've found a good 2005 one but need the 2004 - will it work?
