Evening All! Just joined and looking foreward to the EXPERIENCE. Big (not actually) Ducati fan. Had a break from biking in 1964 when I first got married! Bought a V50 Guzzi about 20 years ago which kindled the Flame again, moved to a Cali T3, Cali 1100 and then bought my first Duke - 907ie which I kept for 11 years. Loved it but totally impracical in todays traffic. Legs became shorter and moved to a ST2 which I couln't get on with for some reason so bought my current Monster M900ie as a wreck. Got 'Norah' up and running about four years ago and loved her until recently. She became very hot on a run about a month ago and the idle speed dropped and is now running on the rear cylinder under 3k revs. Have set TPC, checked injectors, changed plugs and leads, swapped coils, balanced throttles and checked all wiring. Any suggestions gents?
examining spark plugs might help followed by a compression check.Several things might be to blame but it could well be front cylinder exhaust valve receeding enough to close gap down at shim enough to prevent valve closing at TDC firing. How many miles and when were shims last checked/altered?
