Hello. I've had a ducati multi strada in past so not new to ducati. Looking to buy a good 916...would consider 851 or 888. Seen a 916 on eBay that looks mint but the rear sprocket is lock wired! Does this mean it's been raced? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/163672929208 Any advice welcome or if anyone as a bike for sale let me know. Thanks karl
It's mentioned here post 8488 onwards - Louigi Moto have a good reputation... lock-wiring is done for fashion on many bikes. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/ebay-bikes.23629/page-425
Thanks for all the advice. Does this bike look like it's worth 7k. Checked the mot history and it's hardly used from 2006
Compared to what's on the market at the moment it looks good. Check they plastics for repair on the inside and check the date stamps on the panels to confirm it's as it left the factory - should be a good buy. Remember it's a private sale as it's a customers bike so probably no warranty... worth a look for sure before it gets snapped up
Looks tidy. Check where the clip-on locating pin slots into the triple-clamp for any damage, may indicate if its gone down.
