Newbie Saying Hi, When’s The Best Time To Buy

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Gaffa22, Oct 10, 2024.

  1. Hi all,
    I’m Mark from Norwich UK.
Been a biker for many years, I was also a track day instructor for awhile.
Ive had many varied bikes over the years, mostly hyper tourers and sports bikes.
Honda Blackbird x2, VFR 1200, Diversion 900, Fireblade x 4, Yamaha R1M, Yamaha R1 ex BSB superstock race bike, MT10 SP plus a few other odd ones.
I recently sold my Kawasaki H2 SX SE, which was a total weapon, but now I’m north of 60 years of age I feel I need to slow down a bit and have something easier to ride, but is a bit sporty and can be used for touring, so the local Ducati dealer let me have a Multistrada V4S for a couple of hours. I really enjoyed it and think it’s the bike for me.
I’m seriously tempted to splash out on a new MY2025 V4S.
Which I believe will be available at dealers at the end of the year, but when is the best time to buy to get a good deal, do Ducati have a pattern when they do special deals ?

    thanks in advance
    Mark

  4. Welcome Mark, not sure of the UK but here in Australia it is very rare for Ducati to have special deals on their bikes as they operate on a people will pay what we want for them basis!

BTW: see you are in Norwich, that's where I originate from - my family all live in Norfolk still (I'm the only one that got away :)) I am also the wrong side of 60 years old these days too!

  7. Hi Nadge, I was born in Costessy and now live south of Norwich at Poringland. Do you know it ?

  8. Yep. when I attended Norwich City College I was living in New Costessy for the first year (1979-80) - plus out that way there's the show grounds of course for the Royal Norfolk Show :) I used to travel to Bungay and Beccles to work so also went Poringland way a fair bit.

My dad is in Fakenham, one brother in Watton, another in Cromer and my sister just out of Fakenham in Little Snoring. I have lived in Australia since 1990.

  9. Interesting, I was at City College at the same time, doing a motor mechanic course.
If I remember rightly I was there 1979 to 1982

  10. I was doing a printing course, '79-83.

  11. Small world mate.
How’s Living in Australia suiting you

  12. It is good, obviously living here means you miss out on seeing family and stuff that goes on but the lifestyle here is definitely better. I live in Adelaide, South Australia, and there are plenty of good riding roads here once out of suburbia (and a lot less traffic than in the UK)

  13. Ignore, hadn't realised you are down under

  14. Sounds great
My nephew Richie, lives out there, not sure where, but he’s engaged to Chris Vermeulen’s sister.
    He loves it over there
