Newbie To Forum From Gloucestershire -wanted 2012/2013 Ducati 848 Evo

  1. Hi Guys

Just resgisterd tonight and wanted to say hello to you all from Gloucestershire.

So why is a Kawazaki Z750 rider registered on here. Well i am now looking to buy a 2012 or 2013 848 Evo Corse SE, partly because of the good reviews and because I've always wanted a Ducati and I thought the time is right so here I am.

I would be greatful if you could provide any pointers on the nuances of where to look? e.g. Auto T, MCN and on the bay, what to look for? and maybe any guidance on prices? from what I can see I'm thinking a carbon loaded (termis) version of what I'm looking for (low mileage) would be around 8k-8.5k?

Thanks you all for your time and any input
    Andy

  2. Make sure it's the red one with termis, had new belts fitted and sims checked. Sold mine after 3 years because I wasn't sending £600 every two years on a service but it was one nice bike and never let me down

  7. I'm going to be controversial and say that I don't think the SE is worth the money over a standard Evo, ouch... Basically I bought a SE ohlins shock for my Evo and it was still too stiff and couldn't really feel the difference. I think there is much more choice if u stick with an Evo. If u can pick one up with termi slash cut cans and then get a custom suspension set up you are nearly There. I know the SE has a quickshifter and TC but honestly it doesn't really need either.

    This looks clean:

Welcome in though, whatever I get will benefit from a 14t front sprocket and an Oberon or similar clutch slave cylinder, oh and a grippy seat

  10. I read somewhere if your over 200-240 lbs then the suspension is going to be more compliant in stock form. I would get this especially set up for me. Thanks again for great input.

  11. Hey Phil, it does look clean but not at that price for age, mileage etc. but not might revisit later, not yours by per chance?

  12. No mate. I sold mine in 2014, it was a 2013 though and was immaculate but only got £7500 trade in!!
