Newbie With An St2t An St2

  1. Just about to buy an ST2 at a very good price.

    This particular machine has lain idle for a few years now in a nice dry garage.

    Apart from getting on and doing the cambelts I'm not sure what to look out for as I get it road ready

    Was thinking of replacing the flywheel for something lighter to make it more responsive, I assume a 907 will fit.

    But how interchangeable are the parts from different ducati's and what parts have they pinched from say Yamaha or ford etc?

    Any help appreciated

    I think the ST2 is one of Ducati's lesser appreciated little gems. IMHO no need for a lighter flywheel, the engine is a peach.

    Look out for the commonly failing reg/rec though...

  5. i fitted some uprated parts from the ST4s on my ST4 such as the swinging arm.

    I loved my ST4, great bike until the thermostat/cooling fan went tits

  6. Why would you want to change the flywheel before you have even tried the bike? I have an ST2 as my second bike and it is great just as it is.
