Hi My names Dave from Aberdeenshire and I've just rejoined the Ducati fold after selling my 1981 MHR about 10 years ago, I've now got myself a 1998 748B with 14K on the clock, the bike has been dry stored since 2005. The bike was in good condition except for bad corrosion on the crankcases and rear shock. I have removed the engine ( took almost 8 hours of hammering heating and welding to remove the swingarm spindle!!!) the motor is now back in the frame after painting, new belts and the valve clearances checked. I require things like gaskets, o rings etc so any recommendations for suppliers would be much appreciated. I have Googled spare parts online but so far I've found that no one seems to stock a comprehensive supply of Spares.
Morning, All your Viton O rings available from here, O-Rings - Viton | Nitrile | EPDM | PTFE | Silicone | HNBR | Kalrez you will need to know the size you want though. I use them for the quick connect fuel lines and the fuel pump base. Steve
Thanks everyone for the replys, looks like a good supplier for o rings. I managed to get the rear shock out today, glad I have oxy acetylene as it seems to be a prerequisite for removing a lot of things on the modernish Ducatis!! The bottom bolt was seized solid so it required a bit of heat as did the swing arm pivot! Dave.
