newby member and potential 996 owner

  1. Hello everyone,

    New member and potential new 996 owner here from Jersey CI. Long time biker with an rgv250 and an old zx9r which is an every day bike and great reliable old horse.

    Looking at a 996 which (as a 916) was my dream bike as a teen. Looking for a bit of guidance on buying and then hopefully as an owner. Buying thread here:

    buying a 996

    Hope to be an owner soon and to be able to stick around!

  9. Welcome. Hard to say regarding the 996. If it were me I would go for a later machine because if you get a duffer from that era it can be a nightmare.
    But then if you love them.......
