Looking for some replacement wet clutch plates and originals are out of stock everywhere (and expensive). Newfren ones are in stock in a few places but I have no experience of them. Anyone used them? Are they any good? Any better alternatives?
Have you done that before posting? If you have any links to experiences on wet clutch plates made by Newfren then they would be very helpful, but can’t see any hence why I asked……………
Forgive me if I am wrong but they are both dry clutches though? Searched though before and couldn’t anyone who had used their wet clutch plates……..
The 750SS Andy, I havent killed the clutch in the multi . I think being sat for two decades has killed them. I hoped I could revive them but have had to no luck. As usually with wet clutch plates they show next to no wear but have just ‘gone off’.
Okay, I was wondering I think EJ’s link to a couple of responses on a Scrambler related post suggests they are worth a try ……. just remember to soak them. Andy

No idea what Ducati know, or who makes what for who. OE ones aren’t available from Ducati and that’s as far as it interests me but appreciate some people like to know who makes every tiny part. Just don’t want to end up getting rubbish kit and would much rather trust the opinions of people on here, who generally have at least a reasonable understanding and many are experts, over random internet reviews. Would rather hear one experience on here than 100 ‘product reviews’ on 3rd party site selling them.
I’ve been using them for about 15 years in my monster and 996/1098. Never had any issues. Would happily order more when needed.
@TBay theyre good , for both dry and wet clutches*, buy them. * Is there a difference in friction compound ? I don’t think so. I think it’s the same plates regardless of whether it’s destined for a dry or a wet clutch. They look and feel the same anyway.
I am a bit out of touch on clutch compounds but certainly used to be very different composition between wet and dry, mostly due to temp/ cooling was my understanding but to be fair it’s been about ten years since I last swapped a clutch out. It used to be Kevlar as main component in wet and carbon based stuff in dry. EBC wet plates used to be OK but their dry ones were utter crap (again may have changed). Never heard of Newfren before this week, but good to hear a few on here have had good experiences with them.
