Nexx Xr2 Helmet: Reviews Here?

  1. No guys I just looked online for a who's and became very intrigued about this Portuguese made helmet. Apparently it's one of the lightest available. Has anyone here tried it and what are your impressions? Thanks

  2. I have one and it is indeed very light. It also has excellent visibility as the visor is very large. Not even horrendously expensive so a big recommendation from me.

  3. Thanks that's helpful. Have you managed to try it in store? I can't find a shop in London that stocks them so wouldn't know how their sizing compares to Shoei was the sizing/shape similar to your previous helmet?

  4. I got one for only £150.00, thanks to someone on here pointing me to a special offer on an XL - Exige I think. It's great. As above, it's light with great visibility and quiet and comfy. It really helps with low-speed neck-ache.

  5. Tried the carbon version at the bike show based on the positive feedback here and someone likened the fit to a Shoei. Shoei like it is not, I found the medium too small and the large too loose. Sadly there is still a gulf of difference between manufacturers and their sizing. You definitely have to try one on before you buy. Andy

  7. How far away from Leatherhead are you? There is Getgeared over there they stock the Nexx lids.
Yes it is really light weighs in at 1250 grams mind you so does my Shoei Xspirit.
The Nexx X1R I had was a bit noisy and I don't think they are as well built as some cheaper lids and not as good as the Shoei.

  8. Thanks Cupid. Im some 20 miles away so it's doable. interesting about your shoei....

  9. Its the Xspirit 1 I have it in a display cabinet, I have just checked it and it says 1400 grams on the side but when I hold that and the Nexx the shoei feels loads lighter.

  10. It's supposed to be 1.2 kg or 1200 grams the Nexx that is. I also have the shoei NXR and that weighs 1260 grams

  11. I have a shoei neotec and it's quite heavy... Must be 1.5kg or 1.6

  12. There should be a label on the outside of the shell near the kite/Safety sticker which will say how many grams it is.

  13. He is enquiring about the XR2 though.

I have just had a search on the web and seen the specs for both.
    XR1R Carbon 1200 grams
    XR2R Carbon 1295 grams
The XR2R is surely going backwards as it is heavier than it's older version.

Like I said my Shoei NXR is stamped as 1260 grams and in all honesty how much difference will 60 grams make to the average rider, will they even notice it?

  14. Of course nobody will notice 60 grams difference but they might just notice the price difference. How big is that??

  15. I had used Shoei helmets over the last 20 years and always a large. I bought a large Nexx and it is noticeably tighter but not uncomfortably so. The build quality is as good as my most recent Shoei but I have to say I think the quality has dropped over the years anyway.

  16. Just searching the web and the price seems to vary a lot
    XR1R Carbon £220 from Getgeared
    XR2R from same shop £299.

  17. My previous helmet is a Bell and that is an XL too. I would describe the Nexx as being more snug fitting than the Bell. It isn't too tight but it doesn't want to move around at all.
