Just saw that ........ again !! why has it been 'on and off' for sale for a couple of months ? Have people viewed and it's not in good nick or is it that the SC market is weakening.
Not mine, but he said he has been offered silly money, I assume someone has done there usual and let him down, looks ok in the pics, but I don't know him so can't really say
Why is that cheap at £8000 buy it now and a start price of £6500 (which he may not sell at if he's hoping for nearer £8K), when there is a much lower mileage one for £6,200 classified ad price - which you would probably get for just under £6K) Confused...
The one for £6,200 is a GT He had it up for £7,500 start price So I only assume he is trying a lower start price in the hope it gets some bids Don't know ask him I paid £8,100 for mine so thought it was a good deal
Shows what I know, I just searched Sport Classic and found them were they not all the same price when they came out? Are there 3 types were there Sport Classics, GT's and Paul Smarts?
I am no expert but when I was looking You have the monoposta (single shock, single seat) one of the most desirable Biposto or something like that, twin shock duel seat GT this seams to sell cheaper Then the Paul smarts and s versions with the fairings There is a yellow monoposta on autotrader, been there some time, 9000 miles £10,500, he wouldn't budge much when I was looking back in July, think he wants too much If I was looking now I would def go look at this one And hopefully the price isn't starting to go back down, mind you that's about right for me, buy one at top dollar, then sell it at bottom dollar, storey of my life Was thinking of selling mine and going back to a monster, never should have sold it for a harley, we live and learn
There are 5 'types', the Smart replica, the mono, the Biposto and the S, and the GT. There all very similar, smart and mono, single seater with assymetric swingarms and exhausts, smart has better suspension, GT with straight bars, low level exhaust shorter tank longer seat aimed at better comfort, Bip and S with symmetrical swingarm and exhausts also have lighter alloy rims and slightly better rear suspension. There are some other minor differences but these are the obvious ones, a couple of special paintjobs were done for the US market but weren't sold here. The motors are the same in each. The rarest model is the Bip, oddly for the 'limited edition' tag, the PS is the most common though usually the priciest.
The only one I've not owned is a GT. I love em, they just appeal to me and yes I know they're uncomfortable and the finish isn't great but the look of them, with the right mods, for me is irresistible. I p/ex my PS for a biposto in 07 and got £6500 for it. Couple of years later I bought a yellow mono with Termi and 600 miles on the clock for £4000. I've still got one which doesn't look anything like a standard bike hence looking for a bog standard one but looks like prices are starting to weaken and the last thing I want is to buy at inflated prices. Should have kept the old one(s)
...... If they're £2000 exhausts I'll eat my hat. Somebody please tell him they're keihan and cost £300
Sport Classics were available as: Sport 1000 (available as s, Monoposto & Biposto), Paul Smart 1000 & GT1000. The GT1000 was also available for a short time as a touring version, complete with a fairly tall windshield & pannier bags (IIRC). They all had different list prices. I believe the GT1000 originally listed at £6999 in 2006/7, but then increased to £7999 the following year.
That has happened to me on ebay, people just keep bidding and it goes over the BIN. Anyway, do we really believe it sold for £15100 - if it did mines on ebay tonight for £14999 ........ bargain.
At 10:00 last night it was at £6600 then it jumped to £15100 and ended early..... Call me Mr Cynical but do we suspect foul play ?
