899 No Clear Coating?

  1. I know I'm a bit slow but is it correct that the 899 does not come with clear coating on the red ones? Do you guys just remove the tank and go to a professional paint shop to apply some protective coating? Is it difficult to remove the tank?

  2. Yeah the red ones dont have a clearcoat, only the white ones.

Rather than getting it laquered I'd go for the XPEL paint protection film...

You'll be looking around £500 to get it fitted. But it covers the entire bike rather than just the leading edges like Ventureshield, and of course you get the benefit of it self healing.

  3. It's not a big deal in my opinion

Lots of paints are not cleared coated these days. Just directionally polish it and wax it.

I've had no issues with mine.

  4. I 2nd the expel ultimate paint protection, although I got the part fitment at £300, covers all the essential areas. It's a good fitment and does its job good.
