1200 No Key Warning

  1. Hi all
    theres a No Key warning message on my dash and I have to put the key directly on the top of the dash to get it to register to start it
    I’ve changed the battery in the key twice, checked the fuse in the front fuse box
    Think the transponder is on its way out?
    1200s touring
    30k miles
    And my fuel sensor is on the blink, at least I know how to sort that

  2. What make battery did you use ? I found the latest Duracell 2035 doesn’t work and ended up using an Energiser. Andy

  5. maybe the transponder pickup ring plug in connection is loose or needs some cleaning?

  6. Had the same problem. Got around it for a few thousand kms by having the key near the antenna every time I needed to fire the bike up until this stopped working as well. Got a new key fob and everything went back to normal. Kept the old key just in case.
    P.S. Aroung a hunderd euros for the job ...

  7. Thanks for the reply, probably have to go down the same route after trying everything else I can think of
    I’m already putting the key on top of the dash pod
