749 No Lights!

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by bluey, Jun 14, 2016.

  1. Help.

No lights front or rear. High beam works, brake light works, side light works at the front only.

    What could it be?

Fuses on the front light assembly look ok.

  2. checked your bulbs ?,, my side and tail pop regularly

  3. Bulbs are good. Both front and rear out.

  4. I might be wrong here but I had a similar problem on my 999 a few years ago but I think it was just the headlight, it was the relay in the front headlight cluster.

  5. Where be that then mate?

  6. Strangely enough I did a search on the Ducati forum to see if there was a thread to show you where the headlight relay is situated and it came up with your Thread "749 headlight relay location" from Oct 2015.

  7. I know, and that didn't really answer for me.

  8. Can anyone explain exactly how you get to it please?

  9. Sorted..

Rear bulb gone and relay, AND front bulb. What are the chances of that!

The headlight relay is located above the front wheel. Look up under the wheel and remove the black panel using the four allen bolts. Then looking from the front reach up to the left or shine a torch inside and you will see the relay located in a rubber housing.

The rear light assembly requires you to remove a few screws before you can safely remove the red lens.

    Happy bunny.
