  1. Hi All,

Looking to replace the standard 1299 rear shock with something a little more race worthy.

    Thinking ohlins,ktech,mupo etc.

    What you got ???

PS - Need to respring the front as i'm not heavy enough, so may consider upgrades there as well...

  2. Personal choice really. All governed by cost, looks, personal preference really.
I went Ohlin's because 1: I'm an Ohlin's tart 2: I picked it up for the right price with a choice of different springs
If I were to look again I'd look at buying a second hand electronic unit and having it converted to manual adjustment.
Another to look at are Nitron, they get a pretty good review

  3. Hi, I have the rear Ohlins shock from a 2016 1199R. The bike was in a crash so its only a few months of use but the shock has some very light scratches on the reservoirs from the gravel which are only noticeable up close. Looking for £900 ono.

  4. Electronic or manual?

  5. It's the oem 1199R shock so manual (TTX?).

  7. Dave is very enthusiastic with his support so you should be in good hands. Give him a hug from me David M.

  8. I was going to go with ktech, because personally I think they are the best. However, they are pricey new and hardly any second hand at all. I’m not sure why you’d bother with converting the electronic ttx unless it was very very cheap. I picked up a spotless ttx from a member on here for £600.

  9. That is a good price, super clean looking unit that. I’ve seen some of the electronic units go cheap and I remember when I was looking they were easier to find, much like ohlins forks. Pickings can be slim for the second hand manual units.
Converting would be a cheaper alternative to buying new

  10. JWR Suspension up in Louth have converted one for someone. I think they were charged around £150-£250. It is an option, but you’ll struggle to find one cheap enough to make it cheaper than a decently priced manual one. They are only £1100 new, so should never really be that pricey.
