Has anyone done a track day recently where their 899 has had the noise tested, and if so, what was it under ? Both drive by and static would be great, if anyone knows ? Mine's a 14 plate 899 on standard exhausts Cheers in advance Graeme
65 plate on standard exhaust 106db's last time at Brands and that was at a lower rpm as well. The noise testers let you run a panigale at a lower rpm for the test. Pretty sure it was even louder than that the time before! Little tip, make sure it's fully warm and lean the bike slightly (noise resonates) Msv are okay about them usually. Although I've heard some having issues in evening sessions. Guy before me got rejected on his 1199 initialially doing 107db's but argued his case that it was a completely standard bike and if it's road legal what's the problem. They let him on. The rideby volume isn't anywhere near as bad as some of the inline 4's.
Not tried the 899 but my 1199 scraped by at Brands Indy (they were actively trying to get it through) and I have seen plenty at Silverstone and Donington (no static just drive by testing there).
